1-22-06 Show Notes

Tell me about something your mother baked.

Bread and the great aroma!
Coffee Cake Bread - caller used to wake up to the great smell.

------------------------------------------
My mother used to bake a checkerboard cake and it would amaze me. Chocolate and vanilla mini squares throughout the cake. She would make up stories on how it was made and I never knew. A year after she passed away we were cleaning out her kitchen we found an old cardboard box with various unusual pans and utensils. It was labeled
"checkerboard cake." I'm sorry I found it and immediately threw it away because it was a "secret" that I wished to keep as a wonderful memory.

-------------------------------------------

Stories about watching the space missions.

--------------------------------------------

List of favorite songs from the late 50's and early 60's

--------------------------------------------
A caller confessed that she was on the Bozo Show as an audience member. She was too embarassed to tell her friends but her brother told and she cut his dodge ball in half :o).

When I was on Romper Room, they pre-empted the Friday show. They served us Twinkies and milk and sent us home because John Glen had to go up in space. I also felt jilted when I saw that she actually switched the magic mirror to make it see-through and read those names off a card attached to the microphone.
