TELL ME ABOUT YOUR GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE.
Bruce: When I would ask for a glass of water at grandma's house, she would go to the refrigerator and take out a bumpy brown tinted glass jar and pour a cold drink. The water always tasted sweeter at her house. She used to take empty prune juice jars and clean them out filling them with water for the icebox. You could still taste remenants of the juice in the water!
Ducksneezer- After church, we would go to grandma's and she would always have flowers on the table and a full buffet for us. After we ate, we would gather around the piano and members of the family would each play their instruments (including a banjo) and sing!
Coal Miner's Daughter used to visit Grandmother to see her beautiful wooden doll.
Caller - Grandmother's parents came from Germany. Spent more time with her than her parents. She smoked cigars and a corn cob pipe. Would play dominoes, jacks, pick up sticks. She would get fresh chickens, find the stomach, clean it out and then blow it up like a balloon. We used to play with it outside and it would smell!
------------------------------------
DUCKSNEEZER- Enjoys reading the notes online. He is trying out for the Millionaire Show on Sept 8. Tell Meredith I said hi.
Coal Miner's Daughter - really enjoys Renee Olstead. Talked about the butcher shop with the sawdust on the floor. Butcher would give bones for soup.
Caller - Knew someone who dated Babe Ruth. Unfortunately she saved nothing, no pictures, letters. Too bad. Woiuld be worth a lot! We talked about Cary Grant who charged 25 cents for every autograph. Caller would see all the big bands and got their autographs. Great memories.

I remember Marky Maypo, a rubber doll that would attach to the side of your cereal bowl while you ate your Maypo. I still have Marky. He's on my desk at home. Wish I still had the spoon and the bowl.
